The Investment Plan for Europe supports the launch of an online toolbox on anaerobic digestion for the agricultural community in France

The Banque des Territoires, with the support of the European Investment Advisory Platform of the European Commission and the European Investment Bank, has developed a “methanization toolbox” for the agricultural world in France. It is a consulting and engineering platform allowing farmers to realize their anaerobic digestion project under the best conditions. Methanization is a natural biological process of degradation of organic matter by microorganisms. This degradation results in the production of biogas and a digestate, residue of the process, which can be used as a fertilizer. This method makes it possible to recover waste of agricultural origin, to locally produce renewable energy and to stabilize or create local jobs in a logic of circular and sustainable economy. Executive Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis said: “This project of the Banque des Territoires, supported by the EIB and the European Investment Advisory Platform, demonstrates how targeted support can help agricultural companies to recover their original methane emissions. in the production of biogas and diversify their energy supply.
