IFA Advises Farmers to Attend Cap Information Meetings
IFA President, Eddie Downey, has advised farmers to attend the Department of Agriculture information meetings commencing this week. These meetings will be an opportunity for farmers to get accurate information in relation to CAP reform, Greening, GLAS and eligible land.
Eddie Downey said, “It is vital that farmers maximise the benefits of all schemes as direct payments are such a significant part of farm income”.
The IFA President said that the Association will continue to deal with the issues surrounding all schemes and will be looking for the necessary flexibilities and changes, where necessary. Barriers to entry to schemes must be removed. The specifications on the new GLAS scheme must not deny farmers the opportunity to get the maximum payment of €5,000.
