80 Branch AGMs Taking Place Tonight as Voting in IFA Presidential Elections Gets Underway
The first 80 IFA branch AGMs will take place tonight where members can cast their vote for the next President and Deputy President of IFA.
Among the branches voting are Scartaglen in Kerry, Knockcrohery in Roscommon, Donaghmoyne in Monaghan and Bagenalstown in Carlow.
In all, 940 AGMs will take place between now and the end of November.
For this election, members have the option of bringing their vote in its return envelope at their branch meeting, or returning their vote by post.
Voting packs contain ballots papers for President and Deputy President and a return envelope. These began issuing last week when the first 22,000 members were posted their voting packs.
Two batches of votes have now been issued. A third batch will issue this week and the final batch will go next week, depending on the date of the AGM.
Batch | Postal Dates | AGM Branch Date |
Batch 3 | 7th/8th/9th Nov | 20th Nov – 26th Nov |
Batch 4 | 14th/15th/16th Nov | 27th Nov – 29th Nov |
If members whose AGMs take place over the next week have not received their ballot pack, they should contact their local IFA office.
IFA Returning Officer Brian Rushe said that the key message for members was to attend your local AGM and bring your ballot papers in the return envelope provided.
“While the postal option is there, it is important for members to attend their local AGM and have their say on issues of concern to them,” he said.
