IFA Seeks Clarification on Teagasc Charges for Knowledge Transfer
IFA is seeking a meeting with Teagasc to clarify the situation with regard to fees being requested for participation in Knowledge Transfer groups run by Teagasc.
IFA Rural Development Chairman Joe Brady said that Teagasc gets a €500 payment per client in Knowledge Transfer groups and charging non-clients a fee is in conflict with this payment.
Joe Brady said that farmers in Knowledge Transfer groups are already being asked to pay for veterinary charges and adding in an additional fee for Teagasc diminishes the value of the €750 payment to the farmer under the scheme.
