Stronger Lamb Market – Prices Up to €5.15/kg
IFA National Sheep Chairman Sean Dennehy said the lamb market is stronger this week, with prices up to €5.15/kg and some top prices of €5.20/kg. He said supplies are much tighter and clearly demand is solid.
Sean Dennehy said the clean lamb policy is causing severe difficulties at some meat plants with overzealous implementation by some factory and Department officials. He said a more practical approach was needed taking account of the current difficult weather conditions. He said no factory would want to get a name among farmers for sending home lambs.
