FMP Milk Quality Meeting
When | Tuesday 27th July 7PM |
Where | Larry Hannon’s Farm Yard, Fullerscourt, Balitore, Co Kildare, R14 N400 |
Fresh Milk Producers Chairman Willie Lennon would like to invite FMP Central Executive members to attend an on-farm information meeting on milk quality next Tuesday evening 27th July at 7pm on the farm yard of Larry Hannon.
Quite a number of FMP members have experienced an issue with milk quality in recent weeks.
Thermoduric bacteria are a difficult bacteria for milk processing as they survive pasteurisation and that can cause issues with product shelf life and quality. They come from the soil and external surfaces and can build up rapidly in milking equipment. They can be a particular problem to solve in summertime. They have always been a key focus of liquid milk suppliers to maintain low levels to maximise milk quality.
Glanbia Senior Milk Quality Manager, Fionnuala Malone has kindly agreed to facilitate a meeting next Tuesday evening at 7pm on the farm yard of Larry Hannon.
Larry is based just 2km from Exit 3 on the M9 Dublin-Waterford motorway.
