IFA & UFU Meet to Discuss Sheep Production
IFA Sheep Chairman Kevin Comiskey recently hosted the UFU Hill Sheep Committee on two farms in Co. Leitrim.
He said the discussions were an important opportunity to cover a variety of topics impacting the sheep sector and the key factors associated with sheep production.
The topics for discussion on the day focused on CAP; wool; environment and sheep production.
Speakers included Teagasc; Sheep Ireland; Gilrane & Associates; Future Cast; EweKnit; and environmentalist Dolores Byrne.
“Events such as these are a great opportunity to bring together our counterparts and share knowledge and expertise in the interests of all sheep farmers,” he said.
Concluding, Kevin Comiskey said it’s important both organisations continue to engage for the improvement of the sheep sector across the island of Ireland.
