IFA Aquaculture Chair Finian O’Sullivan has announced that Registration is now open for the IFA Aquaculture Conference & AGM 2025.

IFA Aquaculture’s Annual Conference and AGM will be held at the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel, Castletroy, Co. Limerick (V94 WTC9) on Thursday, 20th March 2025.

The event will take place on the eve of the Irish Skipper Expo taking place at the UL Sport Arena on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd March.

“The commitments outlined in the Programme for Government to support the sustainable development of our aquaculture sector and streamline aquaculture licencing through legislative changes must be a top priority for the incoming Minister Timmy Dooley,” Finian O’Sullivan said.

“The new Minister of State must also recognise that the Irish aquaculture sector is a vital contributor to the national economy and food security – the IFA Aquaculture Conference & AGM is an opportunity for members and stakeholders to engage and discuss these matters,” he said.

A full agenda for the day will be announced in advance of the event but will include updates on relevant issues such as:

  • The Sustainable Development of Irish Aquaculture
  • Climate Change & the Irish Ocean – Impacts on Irish Aquaculture;
  • EU Aquaculture Policy

There will also be an update on the Programme for Government and its relevance to Irish Aquaculture. Key speakers will be announced shortly.

Following presentations, IFA Aquaculture members will meet in the afternoon for their AGM.
