General Election 2024

As the General Election approaches on 29th November 2024, IFA is urging our members to recognise the critical importance of this election for the future of Irish agriculture. Decisions made by the next government will profoundly impact the farming sector, influencing policies on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), climate action, retail regulation, and other vital issues central to the sustainability of farming and rural communities.

IFA has also published its manifesto and key asks, outlining the measures required to secure a viable future for farming and farm families. This comprehensive document addresses the challenges and opportunities facing the sector, including:

  • Taxation and Succession
  • CAP
  • Climate Action
  • Retail Regulation
