In Northern Europe, the lack of supply of seed to the processing sector is extremely concerning at a time when exporters are seeking to retain their recent expansion into world markets. With the 7% reduction in seed area (France, Belgium, Germany, Denmark and Holland) this year and crop losses due to quality downgrading and poor yield, a much higher percentage of the crop is likely to be cut.
