The prices quoted in the IFA Farm Forestry Timber Market report were sourced from forest owners, forestry companies and sawmills.
The significant price rises in 2021 and Q1 of 2022 have seen a decline in Q3 2022. Economic uncertainty, due to the Russian invasion of the Ukraine, and a decline in consumer confidence due to the rising cost of living and is having an impact on construction levels. Building and construction output was down 4.5% in Q2 2022 (CSO 2022).
