Willie has been actively involved in FMP over the years as Chair of his local group, Mid-Leinster, and as a member of both the FMP management and negotiation committees.
He was an integral member of the negotiation team that successfully negotiated the restructuring package in 2018 and the new 5 year liquid milk agreement LMSA in 2019 with Glanbia.
Elected in 2018 onto the NMA National Milk agency, Willie leads the FMP Negotiation team for 2020 with John Wynne (west Wicklow)as the Vice Chairman, Jim Mulhall, and Patrick Tuite (Meath).

- FMP represents over a thousand liquid milk suppliers to Glanbia.
- They are in existence for over 80 years.
- FMP negotiate on liquid milk price directly with Glanbia on an ongoing basis.
- FMP comprises of 15 local liquid milk groups in the Glanbia & Cork regions.
- They hold a central executive every month.
